Room 4 Homework                               Week 9, Term 1, 2015
Special Homework: Unfortunately, this is my last week at Opunake Primary, so we are going to make the best of it! Your homework this week is to bring in an idea for a game that we can play at the end of the day on Friday. Not only will you need the title of the game, but you will also need to be prepared to give some instructions. This is a great opportunity to become a leader and help to teach the class, Miss MacDonald and Miss Churchman a new game!
Challenger: Adapt the game so that there is another rule. How would this rule affect the way that the game plays out?
Writing Activity: What you need to do is to create a list of instructions that would help myself and your classmates to better understand the game. The instructions need to be very detailed and be written as an explanation by you! We will only have time for a few of the games, so the homework with the most detail will be the most strongly considered!
Extra for experts: Create your own game! It can be based on another game, a T.V. show or even something that you have witnessed that just looks fun. After creating rules for this game, create a video to demonstrate how the game is to be played. You may need the help of a friend or family member to help demonstrate.

Room 4 Homework                                   Week 8, Term 1, 2015
Special Homework: This week we are having a shared lunch on Wednesday.  This is a celebration of the great learning and behaviour we have seen in Room 4 this year (and has been organised to coincide with some Room 4 birthdays too).  Your homework this week is to make a dish to share on this day.  Your dish can be anything, as long as you make it.  This could be sharing your favourite sandwich recipe, or you might have a favourite dish that you could make.
Challenger: Make a change to the recipe to make it your own (perhaps you could add an extra ingredient, or decorate your dish in an interesting way).
Writing Activity: Write the recipe instructions for your dish, and share them on your blog (even better if you can take some photos of each step to post up too.  We will create a class recipe book so that everyone gets a chance to share their favourites, and perhaps have a go at some you enjoyed at home!
Extra for experts: Video your self and create a Master Chef movie This could be used for the passion project homework activity- and really good ones could even be entered into the MOA awards!
